Learning Opportunities

Whatever your opinion regarding diploma examinations, they serve to assist in communicating expected standards for achievement of courses for which there are exams and they are a reality for Alberta students.

The strategies for best preparing students for the Diploma Exams are not exclusive from the strategies for student academic success at the school level, and strategies for success in the world after high school.

These sessions will focus on creating a better understanding of diploma examinations, how to develop appropriate school-based assessments, and how to interpret the results of both school-based and provincial assessments to improve teaching strategies and ultimately, student achievement.

Participants need to be prepared to assess their own teaching and assessments strategies with the goal of making the educational experience better both for themselves and their students.
